Notes	Remarks: This picture was part of a commission Nègre received in 1859 to photograph the sculptures in the Tuileries Garden. Nègre made the photographs in June, 1859. The photographs were to be made into heliogravures and published in a monograph on the Garden, but the death of the commissioner, Frédéric Bourgeois de Mercey, Director of the Fine Arts Division, prevented the realization of the project. This print is reversed, as it was intended to be reversed again in the heliogravure Image/Metadata: Amico Library: 2001 ARTstor: 2005 ARTstor 2005 (2006 rev.) CAMIO 2006
